AboutThe municipality of Vestre Toten enjoys a central location in the inland region of eastern Norway, 110 km north of Oslo and 60 km south of Lillehammer. Vestre Toten is an industrial and agricultural region. The biggest town is Raufoss, but the area is to a large extent rural.
Vestre Toten has an area of around 250 km² and is the second-smallest municipality in the county of Oppland based on area. It is situated west of lake Mjøsa in the southern part of the county and borders the municipalities of Østre Toten, Gjøvik, Gran, Søndre Land and Hurdal. Vestre Toten has a varied agricultural landscape interspersed with large and small lakes and highly productive forest areas. It has a population of 13,000.
